The Wine Tariff Sheriff Strikes Again!
Tannat take advantage of this tariff defying deal is a travesty!
This Saint-Mont old-vine red melds depth and finesse with distinctly varietal character. The dominant Tannat provides rich dark fruit and firm structure, while Cabernet Sauvignon adds elegance and lifted aromatics, and Pinenc (Fer Servadou) contributes spice and floral nuance. Together they show ripe black cherry and plum layered with earth, cracked pepper, and subtle leather.
On the palate it’s concentrated yet balanced, with polished tannins and a lingering, mineral-tinged finish—an engaging expression of southwest France that rewards both food pairing and contemplative sipping.
Tannat is at its best when aged. Eight years of age has given this tantalizing wine an elegance that drinks way above its $17.99 price tag.
Pairs wonderfully with Grilled ribeye or New York strip – Herb-crusted lamb chops – Duck breast with cherry reduction – complements the ripe black cherry and plum tones. Cassoulet or braised short ribs - Aged cheeses like Manchego, Comté, or aged Gouda.
