As experienced wine lovers, most Mission customers already know how reliably fantastic Sancerre whites are. Since we offer quite a few labels, allow us to recommend our current favorite to simplify your selection—it's just restocked in our warehouse and ready to refresh!
Alain Gueneau inherited his family's vineyards nestled on the slopes of this classic Sauvignon Blanc producing region in 1974, and has honored the traditions of the Domaine while seeking to improve the winery's relationship to the land. Joined by his daughter Elisa, this family winemaking team uses environmentally friendly techniques to craft exceptional wines of remarkable value.
The 2024 vintage of the Gueneau "la Guiberte" Sancerre shimmers with pale yellow and green highlights, offering a nose of citrus peel, elderflower and crushed herbs. The palate is refined and steely, with bursts of grapefruit tinged with lime. The finish is long, dry, and elegant with a light, balanced acidity - perfect as an Aperitif, or paired with herbed goat cheese or any type of seafood- especially oysters!
As we see the prices of these go-to wines steadily climbing, the only thing more refreshing than the wine itself is the reasonable price we're able to maintain on this beauty!
